Nature, wellness and local cuisine: this is Botania Relais & Spa in Forio, a relais set within a 3-hectare park built using natural materials and alternative energy sources, with an organic farm supplying 70% of the kitchen's produce.

Ten villas in the green

The resort has 10 white Mediterranean-style villas set throughout the park among olive trees, aromatic herbs and fruit trees, each designed to offer complete privacy and quiet. Categories range from Superior, Premium, De Luxe with garden-view patio, Master, Signature and Junior Suite up to Suite, with the exclusive Open Plan Suite with Jacuzzi at the top of the range.

The Open Plan Suite with Jacuzzi is the most immersive stay at the relais, with open-plan spaces and a private Jacuzzi set within the park's natural surroundings.

Three restaurants, one philosophy

The dining offer spans three distinct concepts. Il Corbezzolo, set on a bright Mediterranean terrace, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with fresh fish and local meat. Il Mirto is the relais's vegetarian fine dining restaurant, looking out over its own organic garden and the first restaurant on Ischia to receive a Michelin Green Star. Nonna Marì is the house kitchen: light lunches on a terrace in the upper terraced woodland, private dinners in a traditional farmhouse setting and cooking classes. The Bar La Grotta occupies a natural cave carved into the tuff rock, while Bar Iris serves poolside drinks under an olive-shaded pergola.

Wellness and the outdoors

The Garden Spa offers regenerative pools and personalised wellness programmes. Outside, a semi-Olympic pool and two heated spring-water pools are available to guests alongside an outdoor gym, yoga in nature sessions (mid-May to September) and an amphitheatre. A free shuttle runs to the beaches of Lacco Ameno and Forio and to the Negombo thermal park (with beach service included from 1 July to 31 August).

A perfect stay, close to paradise

For our wedding anniversary, we spent 4 absolutely perfect days at the Botania Relais & Spa. The setting is enchanting: a quiet and green garden where you feel like you are in a small village, almost alone in the world. The organization is flawless, but what makes this establishment truly strong is its staff. Adorable, attentive, and with a level of professionalism that has become rare today: they anticipate every request and do everything to make the stay unforgettable, without exception (from the reception to the pool, including the restaurant). A special thank you to Claudia, who made sure to make our stay even more magical. As for dining, the breakfast is excellent, served at the table with delicious pastries (another strong point that has become rare these days). Finally, the pool is a true haven of peace, quiet and never crowded. In short, we were really not far from paradise. We will return without hesitation!

Charming ischia luxury

Upscale, lovely hotel with a sprawling layout and lots of charming common areas, such as the stunning bar and pool areas. Our room was elegant in an Italian coastal chic kind of way and it was spacious and luxurious in its design. Service was incredibly friendly and just outstanding in the most earnest way possible. Loved the breakfast, the drinks and casual pool side dining, Few notes - shuttle is great but hotel is not super walkable to off site dinner etc (taxis are easy but pricey). Its an incredible property with hills, etc, so while they do their best to get people around with golf carts on request, i would not go out of my way to recommend to anyone with mobility issues. Food was generally great but our on site dinner was not our best meal ( pool side restaurant not the fine dining option). Overall - outstanding and unique expirience that i would love to return to!

Although the service outside the room and dining was excellent, we felt that the room was somewhat spaciate: 1. Chromecast was only given to us in request and only worked for a couple of hours then failed 2. Many of usual bathroom amenities where missing, for a Leading Hotels of the World. No snacks. 3. Limited TV channels in English. The only tv channels available were the news. TV was a 55’ small incompatible with Apple IOS. 4. Specialty eggs at breakfast where charged extra 6. Limited room service menu. When i asked for a spaghetti carbonara, this was refused even through this used the same ingredients as at breakfast. 7. Made the staff aware, really could not care about my remarks during and after the stay. Don’t get me wrong, the setting is beautiful, but the resort felt more like a resort in Egypt that in Italy.

A 5 star experience, wanted for nothing, all staff from housekeeping, gardening, front of house, cocktail creations, chef, breakfast and dinner team. We were spoilt for 10 days. Thank you.

Botania Relais & Spa is located on Via Provinciale Lacco in Forio, on the western side of the island of Ischia. The free hotel shuttle connects guests to the Negombo thermal spa and Bay of San Montano in a few minutes, as well as to the centres of Lacco Ameno and Forio. Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte are a short drive away, and the location makes it a convenient base for excursions to Monte Epomeo and the Giardini La Mortella.
