Le Querce Resort Sea Thermae & Spa

The location is great as there is a bus stop right outside. We got weekly bus passes and found it very easy to get around the island by bus (certain times of day it can be very crowded, i.e. rush hour / school run etc.). The rooms have everything you need and we each had a large patio with picture perfect views. The thermal pools are the really stand-out asset of this hotel. Food-wise, the breakfast buffet offers fresh fruit, yoghurt, full cooked breakfast etc. The breakfast pastries are dangerously good. We only had one (fixed menu) dinner at the hotel, and although the food was fine, we enjoyed our meals out in Porto, Forio and Casamicciola more. We only had one issue with this hotel, and I'm flagging it to help future visitors...the Hotel (like many in Ischia) is built onto a cliff. Reception is on the middle floor, with a few floors above and a few floors below. Our rooms (404 and 405) were down several flights of stairs (60 steps) from Reception, which was a bit of a hike up and down. Then there was another hike from reception up to street level and the bus stop. Trekking Mt Epomeo was easy by comparison :-) We only found out on our second to last day that (somewhat hidden away) there is a lift from Reception up to street level - wish we had known sooner. On the first day, we expressed concern about the location of the room and were told they would try to move us, but that never happened. We never saw anyone else on our level, and the hotel did not seem full. Can't help but wonder if these rooms are reserved for EasyJet customers. So, advice is if you book, especially if you book through a tour operator, contact the hotel directly in advance to ask about the location of your room.

Beautiful hotel with a splendid view of the gulf

The views are unbeatable! Very friendly staff, good hotel shuttle to town or convenient public bus. Great included breakfast. Limited food options. Not for physically handicapped- lots of stairs.

This place is noisy, if you’re into the sound of fans from the indoor pool playing really loudly on the terrace come straight away. If you fancy a dip make sure you can manage 270 steps - thats how many you need to walk down to the small platform on the edge of a seriously rocky bit of sea. Questionable value for me - significant reductions on book price if you wait and your happy with a room which lets you hear the house music from a party hotel down the road. If you’re on the spectrum bring headphones.
