  • Thermal spa, mud therapy and thalassotherapy in the heart of Lacco Ameno

  • Royal wing with panoramic terrace and private Jacuzzi overlooking the sea

Address
Piazza Santa Restituta, 1 - Lacco Ameno

Thermal waters, fine dining, sea and glamour have a long history at the Regina Isabella. In the 1950s, Angelo Rizzoli built a hotel on the ruins of ancient Greco-Roman baths in Lacco Ameno that would become the social heart of Ischia, a retreat for Richard Burton, Liz Taylor, Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable and Maria Callas. Today it remains the island's only 5-star luxury hotel, with 121 rooms and suites in classic Mediterranean style.

Rooms

From Standard rooms to the Imperial Suite, every room is a refined refuge rooted in island tradition. The Royal wing represents the pinnacle of the offering: rooms with panoramic sea-view terraces and private Jacuzzi pools.

For the ultimate in exclusivity, Royal rooms combine open sea views, a private terrace and a Jacuzzi in a setting of quiet, timeless luxury.

Restaurants

All three of the hotel's restaurants are overseen by Executive Chef Pasquale Palamaro. Ristorante Indaco, holder of a Michelin Star since 2013, is the fine dining destination, set directly on the bay with the water almost underfoot. DolceVita, on the panoramic terrace, serves traditional and creative cuisine in a more relaxed setting. Sporting focuses on Neapolitan tradition and lighter, seafood-based dishes. Three bars complete the offer, including the Piano Bar and the Caffetteria.

Spa and thermal wellness

The Regina Isabella Spa draws on the ancient thermal tradition of Lacco Ameno: mud therapy, thalassotherapy, inhalation treatments, massages, thermal dermatology, osteopathy and fitness, all overseen by a specialist medical team. The hotel's four pools, including two indoor thermal pools, encompass a hypothermal pool and a thalassotherapy pool. A private beach, two equipped jetties and a private motor launch provide direct access to the sea.

Amazing stay - loved every minute!

We spent 4 nights and had a wonderful time at the resort and in Ischia in general! Loved the location. Hotel was very relaxing (although some nights we did hear the music from the lobby bar up in our room). The breakfast spread was amazing - from the "healthy" overnight oats to the delicious selection of house-made pastries! We dined at Indaco one night - food, wine, service and presentation was excellent - although the evening was a little drawn-out for our taste. Everyone who worked at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. We want to give an extra special shout-out to Ciro, who went above and beyond when he drove us back to the ferry and upon arriving at the port we discovered that our ferry time had been adjusted earlier so we missed it - he then drove us to a different port and literally carried our bags to the front of the line as it was boarding, and he talked to the ferry crew and was able to get us on that ferry so we didn't miss our flight home!

Unforgettable experiences. Fifteen trips. But we're far from old-timers. A very interesting environment of campers.

This is a wonderful hotel! With an interesting tradition of excellently trained staff. Cleanliness, home comfort, the best access to the sea of any hotel we've ever visited. The magnificent cuisine and its legendary chef Salvio Di Scala, magical master of his trade, waiter Michelangelo, beautiful woman and manager of the Nancy Boccanfuso economic block, charming face of the hotel at the reception Rafaaello, able to solve any problem you want, unforgettable charming Russian-speaking hotel employee Galina Half-Kopka, and the main advantage of the hotel administration is the manager, director Davide Maestripieri!!! And of course the wisest and most friendly Giancarlo Carriero Owner and General Manager, and his beautiful wife, children and wonderful grandchildren. We haven't listed many workers, but then we'll have to list everyone, everyone, everyone. Thank you for your rest ,friendly attitude and home atmosphere.

This is one of those unique places where, the moment you step into the lobby, you’re transported to a place of beauty. It has this magic glow, not from the building itself, of course, though it’s magnificent, like the SPA in its glorious past and wonderful treatments, but from the people who give it all their energy, respect for their craft, and attention to detail. You can feel it… it’s unique, it leaves no alternatives. We had a fantastic stay, and in fact liked it so much that after three nights, we’re returning on short notice to extend it by two more!! Thank you for making our summer stay so special.

Fantastic decor, quite exclusive. The breakfast location by the sea is fantastic, it's a pity that the buffet is a bit limited and many dishes that one would expect to have included are instead to be paid dearly à la carte (they charge almost $20 for an egg). Everything is very expensive, to be clear, a water from the minibar in the room costs $6 and room service charges significant surcharges. The staff is very well trained.

Map

The entrance L'Albergo della Regina Isabella is located in the pretty Piazza Santa Restituta, in the heart of Lacco Ameno, a small seaside village on Ischia's north coast. On one side there are the antiques shops, artists' studios and boutiques, on the other the sea and the little harbor of lacco Ameno.

The main port of Ischia lies just a few minutes away from the hotel. The island's beaches and the picturesque towns at the foot of Monte Epomeo are, likewise, within easy reach.
Boats to Ischia depart from Naples, Pozzuoli and the neighboring island of Procida. In the summer months, boats also sail between Ischia and Capri and Ischia and the Amalfi Coast.
