Miramare Sea Resort & Spa di Ischia has a history dating back to when the tiny fishing hamlet of Sant’Angelo was only accessible via sea. A local fisherman built a terrace restaurant with a few guest rooms overlooking the Bay of Maronti, and today that humble spot is a comfortable resort with more than 50 rooms facing the Mediterranean, popular with island visitors for its views and modern comforts.

More Than Just a Hotel

Miramare Resort is a self-contained resort, including the Hotel Miramare guest rooms to one side, the Apollon Club with four villas surrounded by gardens and facing the Bay of Maronti on the other, and La Villa, an independent island holiday home with access to the resort services. No matter what your size group and travel style, there's the perfect option for your vacation!

Dive off the Cliffs

The Scoglio Miramare' is a platform made of volcanic rock, easily reached from Hotel Miramare via a flight of stairs from the panoramic terrace. This tiny slice of paradise overlooking Capri is furnished with beach chairs and sun beds, and guests can dive directly off the rocks for a swim in the crystalline water from first thing in the morning to sunset.

Ischia is all about beaches, and the Resort offers a private beach for guests, kitted out with umbrellas and loungers and with the beach bar and Apollon Club restaurant always at the ready for meals, snacks, and drinks.

A Seaside Table

Ristorante il Mare is the other restaurant at Miramare Resort, featuring excellent ingredients and elegant dishes inspired by island and Mediterranean classics. The menu is based on seasonal specialties, and recipes combine tradition with modernity in both flavor and presentation.

Sports & Wellness

During your holiday on Ischia, find time to dedicate to activities like snorkeling, canoeing, and tennis on the court set just above the sea. If you would rather relax, you're in the right place: the spa is open to guests, and the Aphrodite Apollon thermal baths with eight spring-water pools awaits.

False advertising and a very bad experience in a luxury resort

We had booked a Suite Deluxe as described in the web page, with a separating door between living room and bedroom, a bath tube and 60m2. When we arrived to the hotel we found out that our room was occupied and had to wait two days to get it. Meanwhile we had to stay in a lower quality room. When we finally got the room we booked, the bathtub did not work, and could not use it. The hotel director was really unpleasant to us during the stay, and the hotel did not compensate us. Nor allowed us to write a complaint (did not have a complaint book). We sent and email and got no answer. It is a pity because the location and decoration is beautiful, cheating the guests is an awful practise.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks in September. The hotel is ideally located built into the rocks by the sea. The sea views from the hotel are beautiful. Our room was spacious and immaculate, cleaned every day to a high standard. The choice at breakfast is vast, there is nothing you could want for. The staff are all friendly and fantastic at their jobs. The hotel Miramare was everything we wanted. It is only a 6 minute walk to the sister hotel that provides the relaxing thermal pools. If you do not want to walk the hotel provides a golf buggy. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on the lower section by the sea. We ate both here and at the Miramare and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful island of Ischia.

We’ve just returned from our holiday in Ischia where we travelled with our two companions who’d never been to the island before. We had paid a great deal of money for a Junior Suite. Our friends selected a superior room. We’d stayed here 15 months ago and enjoyed the views, food and overall experience, we couldn’t wait to revisit. We’d forgotten what an uphill climb it is from taxi drop-off to hotel reception, carrying our luggage.so we were weary when checking in. The manager insisted on knowing there and then, if we were dining in 4 hours time. I suggested we’d need to get into our room, freshen up and let him know shortly. Maybe this is where it all started to go wrong. We got to our room and had a look round. The first thing we wanted was to sit somewhere comfortable and have a cup of tea. There was no sofa, no easy chair, just our double bed And a spare bed as well as a small desk . If we’d gone outside we could possibly have sat on a sun lounger, if it had had a mattress on it. No such luck. There was a coffee machine with no instructions, but no coffee or tea either. ( and no coffee the day after) The single Wardrobe which had been provided was woefully inadequate for two adults on their summer holiday. We went down to report this to the reception and ask if we could have a proper junior suite but were told that there wasn’t one available. We then asked to have the same room as we’d had last year, but the room (164?) no longer exists. We asked what then could be done and were told a suite should become available in 48 hours. We said let’s take that but that we wouldn’t expect to have to pay more for it. At which point one of the two young ladies in the reception said that it was more expensive and that would have the approval of the manager but he’s not here now. We would hear the day after tomorrow . Our stay was for 4 days so…. We said ok but could we in the meantime have something to sit on in our room other than one of the 2 beds. They would try and get us a chair or two. I told them clearly that this was Misrepresentation. We heard nothing more, about the chairs or the room move. We’d booked this holiday last year. The least we expected was a Junior Suite along the lines of the one we’d had at our previous stay. We are repeat customers who’d recommended this to their travelling companions. We actually paid for a Junior Suite 3300 eurosbut were given a family room. When we discovered what our friends paid in room 127( just over half our cost )we couldn’t believe the difference. Our room was just a bit bigger, but at least they had one comfy sofa in theirs. Our feelings are that we’ve been royally ripped off and treated as if it didn’t matter to the management of the hotel., or to Booking.com Consequently we have been asking for a refund the difference between the cost of room 107 and 127. This is 1550 Euros, seven days of writing to the hotel and Booking.com resulted in 6 “we’ll get back asap normally 48 hours” responses from B.com, nothing from the hotel. I was very interested to read the ( Tripadvisor reviews ) similar experiences from other guests in the same month as us. It’s as if the room we’d booked was given to other guests, and we were lumbered with this stark soulless furniture-less cell.
