The story of Miramare Sea Resort & Spa begins a long time ago, when Sant'Angelo could only be reached by sea and a local fisherman built a restaurant terrace with a few rooms overlooking the Bay of Maronti. Today, every room faces the sea, giving guests breathtaking views and every comfort.

More than a Hotel

Miramare Resort is a world of its own: on one side the rooms of Hotel Miramare, on the other the Apollon Club, a separate building set in the green hillside overlooking the Bay of Maronti, with direct access to the Fumarole beach.

A dive off the rock

The Scoglio Miramare is a volcanic rock platform reached directly from the hotel via a staircase leading down from the panoramic terrace. A corner of paradise looking out towards Capri, equipped with sun loungers, perfect for an early morning swim or a sunset dip before dinner.

Ischia means beaches too, and the resort has one reserved exclusively for guests, fully equipped and with the Apollon Club bar and restaurant always on hand.

The restaurants

Ristorante Il Mare, right on the water, is the resort's main restaurant: buffet breakfast in the morning and fresh seafood in the evening, with a menu that follows the seasons and the day's catch. For a more informal lunch or a dinner in a unique setting, Ristorante Apollon Alle Fumarole welcomes guests with views over the bay and the volcanic fumaroles.

Sport & Wellness

There's plenty to do on an Ischia holiday: snorkelling, kayaking or a game of tennis on the synthetic grass court perched above the sea. For wellness, the Active Bay centre offers yoga, Pilates and guided activities, while the Aphrodite Apollon thermal park has eight thermal pools at varying temperatures.

Mediterranean Resort on Ischia Island

What a hotel! Located on the south side of the island of Ischia in the quaint walk only town of Sant Anglo, the Miramare was an amazing find. My wife and I arrived at this incredible property built against the Mediterranean Sea where we could hear the waves pounding against the rocks below our room. From the moment we arrived, the check in process was simple and while we toured the property, our bags were delivered to the room. The staff are friendly and very professional. At dinner, we were amazed by the selection of local food and wine. The next few days we indulged ourselves at the thermal spa located on the property, walked around the small town, which also has great restaurants and shops. The quiet nature of the town, made for a perfect, relaxing few days. If you are in the mood for a relaxing holiday away from the noise of the city, where you are treated like long lost family and will want for nothing, then I highly recommend Miramare Spa and Resort. Set your expectations high and they will be exceeded.

FIVE STARS (S) FALLING

FIVE STARS (S) FALLING Very negative experience. Arrived on May 1, we waited about 40 minutes before we were allocated the room, a clear sign of inefficient management. The spa park was just opened and in unacceptable condition: swimming pool with dirty water and not usable, probably open without the necessary recycling and treatment. The room was completely lacking hot water. We notified reception several times, but the problem was ignored until the next day, when it was roughly resolved. But it is a problem that has dragged on for a long time and never solved. (read in other reviews). The food service was also disastrous: over 2 hours of waiting for a tomato bruschetta and two pasta dishes are simply unjustifiable. Structure with great potential but managed BADLY and without courtesy. The first time I walk into a 4 star hotel with no elevator. They lack all the essential services to have 5 stars. At the time of the bill, no gesture or intervention was made to alleviate this situation, on the contrary, we were charged for the never made consummations. Not recommended for those with high quality standards.

A Super Stay in Sant'Angelo

From the moment we arrived to the second we left, we had a wonderful stay at Miramare! We were greeted on arrival by a lovely lady, taken to the terrace and provided with water as we were checked in. Everything was fully explained to us about the hotel facilities and also the thermal pools at the sister hotel which is a short walk away. The room was beautiful - bright, spotless and with a gorgeous view over the sea. The balcony was great for watching all the boats in the bay! All staff were very warm, friendly, helpful and attentive. They are a real credit to the business. Fresh towels were provided each day and our room was always made up to a good standard. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The terrace area was great for relaxing with drinks after dinner - Genaro makes some absolutely knock-out cocktails! It was also a great space to relax in after breakfast. The hotel is in a great location and is close to the harbour, restaurants, bars and shops. We travelled through TUI and I recommend paying extra for private return transfers as it made travelling from and to Naples airport a breeze and we didn't have to cart our own luggage from and to our transfer drop-off/ pick-up point in Sant'Angelo. I thoroughly recommend Miramare Sea Resort and Spa if you plan on visiting Ischia and staying in beautiful Sant'Angelo. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel for such excellent service!

A beautiful island retreat

We have had the most wonderful stay at the Miramare Sea Resort. We were welcomed warmly by Marco the GM and after a a cold drink were taken to our beautiful room with stunning sea views. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff are truly superb and they make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. The thermal garden located at the sister hotel is a short shuttle ride away. It is walkable for some but very hilly. It was so relaxing here and there is a restaurant and bar to order food and drinks. The food in the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. There is a set menu which changes every day and everything was so good. The seafood is a must. I also loved the hotels proximity to Sant Angelo with its pretty shops and restaurants. You feel like you are living in a dream. In short, we have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. It has surpassed our expectations by miles. I booked it as a celebration of our 25th Wedding Anniversary and it hasn't dissapointed us in anyway. Thank you Marco, wonderful Mr Gennaro, Giuseppe and the rest of the team. It really has been a dream come true. I could not fault it!

Map

Miramare Sea Resort & Spa sits in Sant'Angelo, a former fishing village on the southern tip of Ischia, now a car-free centre of boutiques, restaurants and bars. The resort looks directly over the Bay of Maronti and is a short walk from the village. The Maronti beach, one of the longest on the island, is reachable by water taxi. Ischia Porto is about 15 minutes by car.
